1) Sleepy Hollow Bed & Breakfast

Don and Marion Matthews are the hosts at Sleepy Hollow Bed & Breakfast, which was founded in 2001. It is located in Gananoque, which is near Kingston and is a good starting point to travel to the Thousand Islands. The mansion was built in 1905 and has three levels, a turret, and a massive picturesque porch.

Sleepy Hollow has a huge living room where guests can rest all day and interact with each other There are many antique items in the mansion and there’s also a library. The second floor has a pool table. Also, there’s central air-conditioning and you can customize your breakfast with their eight-item menu. There are seven rooms and you can also rent the entire house.

Room rates per night for two people range between $120 and $180. These prices already include breakfast. One room, Eden, can accommodate up to four people. You can check the available rooms and make a reservation online.

2) Barndens By the Bay B&B

Donna and Joe Barnden manage this bed and breakfast located at Verona, Ontario. The place is a mere half an hour away from Kingston. It’s closed during the winter season. On the other hand, guests can rent a boat or canoe during the summer. You may even opt for hiking as they offer pickup services.

There are three rooms at Barndens By the Bay: Log Room, Queen Room, and Twin Room. The latter two are located at the upper level of the house and provide a stunning view of the lake. However, guests staying in either room will have to use a shared bathroom. The Log Room features an ensuite bathroom. Only the Queen Room features a ceiling fan.

Rates start at $95 whichever room you pick. Also, Barndens By the Bay B&B accepts payments in cash or traveller cheque.

3) Blue Horizon Bed & Breakfast

This bed and breakfast place is hosted by Margaret and Grant Pyke. It’s situated in Wolfe Island, which means you’re just a ferry and a 10-minute drive away from Kingston. What sets it apart from other B&B businesses is its Victorian aesthetic. You can stay at home and marvel at the design — or just look through the windows to view the Saint Lawrence Seaway.

The Blue Horizon B&B has a honey locust tree where birds often stay and sing. As for the rooms, you can choose among the Lakeside Ensuite, Honey Locust Ensuite, Willow Room, and Dahlia Room. All but the Dahlia Room has a queen bed. All rooms have an internet connection, but only Lakeside and Honey Locust have a private entrance and a balcony or patio.

Nightly rates start at $115 and go as high as $150. This is the full price as taxes already included. You can also save more money if you opt for at least two nights.

4) Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast

The Daisy Hill Bed and Breakfast was established in 2012. The farmhouse, however, has been around since the 1880s. It provides a country feel, which is perfect for anyone who wants to escape the city for a while. Also, it’s just ten minutes away from the western portion of Kingston.

There are three rooms available: Daisy Suite, River Suite, and the Lavender Room. The first two rooms have en-suite bathrooms while the Lavender Room has a vintage-looking private bathroom. Whichever you choose, you’ll get a three-course hot breakfast meal. All rooms have cable TV, a mini-fridge, and a coffeemaker.

5) Rideau Rendezvous

If you’re in Seeley’s Bay, why not stay at Rideau Rendezvous? Laura and Bob Crichton own the place, which is only 30 minutes away from downtown Kingston. Outdoor enthusiasts will love it here since it’s near trails and bike paths. You may even ask for a canoe or kayak if you’d like to go paddling.

The Rideau Rendezvous is open from May until October. Only one suite is available. It has a private bathroom and a queen-sized bed. The room is air-conditioned and has a coffeemaker. You may also opt for bottled water or filtered water.

Two guests can stay for $140 a night. This includes the tax. However, guests have to stay for at least two nights during summer weekends, which is between June and September.

6) The Linden Tree Guest House B&B

Here’s a B&B a mere 30 minutes away from northern Kingston. The Linden Tree is a guest house, which means you won’t have to stay in the same place as the host. Privacy is important, so self-catering of continental breakfast meals is encouraged.

Guests enjoy various amenities: carport, lake access, fire pit, single-seat kayaks, full-sized kitchen, air-conditioning, and a deck where you can sit right outside the house. There are two rooms. One has a queen-sized bed while the second one has two single-sized beds. A three-piece bathroom is also in the guest house.

If you will only use the main bedroom, you just have to pay $135 a night. But if you will use both, it will cost you $150 instead. During weekends in July and August, guests must book at least two nights.
